Homebuyers looking for waterfront living learnt more about how this could become reality with Barratt at Wichelstowe at the weekend.

The five star housebuilder hosted a canal-themed launch event to launch its latest phase of homes at the development – with the help of the Wilts & Berks Canal Partnership who were on hand to tell people more about its restoration projects.

Six of the newly launched Barratt homes overlook the newly refurbished section of the canal providing the perfect outlook for those looking for an individual home right on the waterside.

“These new homes provide the perfect chance for buyers to realise the dream of a fantastic new home next to the water,” said Barratt sales director, Andrea Pilgrim. “With this section of the canal now taking shape, visitors at the launch said how impressed they were with what Barratt has created at this great location.

“Wichelstowe is fast becoming one of the area’s most sought-after developments – and this new phase will appeal to buyers looking for something a little bit different.”

The development is located on the southern side of Swindon and offers a superb selection of one, two, three and four bedroom homes. Some have good views – and the promise of a life next to the canal is attracting a great deal of interest in the latest release of homes.

Current availability includes the two bedroom Colliford coachhouse priced from £119,995, the three bedroom Ashworth house from £181,995 and the three bedroom Welford at £209,995.

“Buyers looking to settle in Swindon are heading to Wichelstowe – and this is no surprise to me,” said Andrea. “Its location is a huge draw – and these new homes by the canal will only increase the interest we are getting from those wishing to move to the area. This is a new community right on the edge of the town and it offers the best of both worlds.

Ideally located for local transport links, Wichelstowe is close to junction 15 of the M4 and the area has easy access to Bath, Bristol, Reading and London.
