Thundersport GB heads to Donington Park

6th April 2011 Print

Donington Park will play host to Thundersport GB Donington Superbike Masters this weekend, giving spectators the chance to see the motorcycle racing stars of the future in action. Round two of the series includes a number of classes allowing young riders to get to grips with racing and develop their potential talent.

Classes such as the Aprilia Superteens have honed the skills of some of the world’s leading racers – including former MotoGP champion Casey Stoner and double World Superbike champion James Toseland. The 12-14 year olds in the class have already had a taste of Donington’s famous circuit having supported World Superbikes two weeks ago. Now they are back and hoping to impress.

Other classes in the Thundersport GB series include the Morello Services GP1 – with riders running at British Superbike pace – the LMB Streetfighters, which offers a different style of racing on naked bikes and the Bikesport News Superstock 600 class with its close-quarters action.

Having set the scene as the final round of last season’s championship, full grids are expected at Donington Park as riders focus their attention on collecting as many points as possible in the early stages of the season.

The event – which will be covered on Motors TV and Eurosport – takes place on 9/10 April 2011. Tickets are available on the day priced at £14 per person. Children 15 and under go free – visit thundersportgb.com.
