The Annual Saint Lucia Jazz is once again welcoming an exciting lineup of jazz musicians next month as part of the largest annual jazz festival in the Caribbean.

The ten-day celebration will take place from 30th April to 8th May 2011 with performances being held around Pigeon Island National Landmark and extending to La Place Carenage, Fond D’Or Heritage Park, Rudy John Beach and Soufrière Waterfront. The latter venue is just a short boat ride from the ‘The Residences’ Sugar Beach.

Now in its 20th year, the Saint Lucia Jazz Festival has a reputation for the high quality of the artists it attracts.

A thrilling lineup has been put together this year including headliner John Legend, Angelique Kidjo, Mike Stern, Trey Songz, and Maceo Parker. What started simply as an event to boost tourism during a low period has now developed into a truly international festival, which over the years has attracted legendary musicians such as Herbie Hancock, Courtney Pine, George Benson, Santana, The Isley Brothers, UB40, Luther Vandross and Smokey Robinson.

Lisa Basire, Marketing Director at Sugar Beach, comments: "The Saint Lucia Jazz Festival is a huge event on the social calendar here, which draws an increasing number of jazz enthusiasts from across the globe each year.

“St Lucia devotees who holiday on the island tend to plan their visit around this highly anticipated event and some eventually decide to own their own piece of paradise here.

“For jazz lovers, owning at ‘The Residences’ at Sugar Beach offers the perfect opportunity to become part of this world famous event, hosting a drinks evening after the festival in the privacy of your own residence or, if you aren’t able to be on the island, taking the opportunity to rent out your home to musicians or guests visiting for the event.”
