Kia has been awarded a place on the vehicle purchase framework agreement (RM859) from Buying Solutions – part of the Efficiency and Reform Group within the Cabinet Office – to offer Kia vehicles to central government departments and other public sector bodies such as NHS Trusts and local councils.

With an overall fleet in excess of 100,000 cars across the public sector this framework agreement gives Kia a huge opportunity to reach new fleet customers.

The entire range of Kia vehicles will be made available through Buying Solutions – from the Picanto city car through to Kia’s largest 4x4, the Sorento, that’s at home both on and off road. Kia products feature a wide range of green technologies and safety features across the line-up - such as Intelligent Stop and Go,that cuts the engine and all emissions when the car is stationary. This delivers big benefits by cutting emissions, for example, on the new award winning Sportage to 135 g/km from the 1.7 CRDi engine.

With safety features such as ABS with EBD, up to 6 airbags and active headrests most of Kia’s range has the full 5* Euro NCAP safety rating. Ahead of new 2012 safety legislation all models are fitted with Electronic Stability Control as standard.

Benefit In Kind and write down costs are important for fleet buyers and the cee’d range is available with variants emitting just 110 g/km qualifies them for 100% write down costs. Adding to this list later in 2011 will be the new Picanto with CO2 as low as 99g/km and the new B-segment Rio – on sale from October - will be available with a 1.1 CRDi engine that offers just 85g/km of CO2 and at least 88 mpg – currently the lowest CO2 and best consumption figures available on any non-hybrid or electric vehicles.

John Hargreaves, Head of Fleet and Remarketing at Kia Motors, commented: ‘By working closely with Buying Solutions, Kia will reach a wider fleet audience within the public sector, and will be able to offer corporate fleet loans to sector departments. Kia’s participation in the Buying Solutions Framework Agreement is timely as it will give Public Sector fleets the chance to take advantage of our excellent value for money sales proposition.’
