Barratt puts chocolate on the menu at Highcroft

Chocolate from Montezuma will be on the menu at Barratt’s Highcroft development in Winchester on Saturday (April 30) with tasty treats in store for visitors.
There will also be a chocolatier on hand to discuss the finer points of chocolate while the Barratt team will be on hand with information about homes currently available at the development.
The event will run from noon until 2pm with chocolate tastings and a fascinating insight into one of the country’s best-loved treats.
Barratt senior sales manager, Zak Long said that buyers this weekend will be among the last to be able to take advantage of the Headstart shared equity scheme which is currently available on a one bedroom apartment which takes the price down from £169,995 to £144,500 with Headstart.
Barratt’s Headstart scheme is specifically designed for first time buyers who want to get on the housing ladder as soon as possible but don’t have the large deposit required by some lenders.
“You can move into this home for just 85 per cent of the price with Headstart,’’ said Zak.
“With Headstart, you would need a deposit of just five per cent and only an 80 per cent mortgage. That means lower monthly repayments and access to more affordable mortgage rates
“It is an ideal solution for first time buyers who have been priced out of the market for years.’’
The remaining 15 per cent is paid back, interest free, after 10 years or when the property is sold - whichever comes sooner.
Highcroft is enjoying a surge in popularity – making it one of the region’s most sought-after developments. And a close proximity to the Hampshire countryside, combined with a short commuting distance to London is contributing to its success.
“Winchester is a big draw,” said Zak. “It is the ancient capital of England and offers a wealth of fine architecture, so we have been careful to retain the character of the locality. And that is what makes Highcroft so special.”
Near to a green expanse of wooded countryside and located right in the heart of Winchester, just minutes from the train station, Highcroft offers a winning formula to home buyers.
Highcroft enjoys an excellent location in a leafy and sought-after area in the west of Winchester. The development lies close to wooded countryside but there are numerous amenities and leisure facilities close by, including bars, restaurants and the city’s train station.
The development is perfect for commuters, with a direct service to London Waterloo in just 58 minutes. The M3 and M27 offer excellent transport links to Basingstoke, Southampton, the New Forest and Dorset.
