Halfords predicts surge in outdoor equipment
Hot weather, two long Bank Holiday weekends and the imminent Royal Wedding are likely to cause record sales of outdoor equipment, according to Halfords.
The camping and cycling retailer is bracing itself for huge demand for items such as coolboxes, tent packs, gazebos, roof boxes, cycle carriers and cycles, as Brits look to head outdoors and make the most out of the coming week.
Halfords has already seen significant year on year sales increases across many items in the travel solutions range and has worked hard to ensure stock is in place to cope with the anticipated rise.
Roof boxes are up 300% this week to date year on year, tents packs are up 80%, and coolboxes have seen a 140% surge.

Halfords Autocentres has also seen an unprecedented surge in motorists booking aircon servicing, as they call on their aircon to get them through the unexpected hot weather.
