Family masters a move to second Redrow home in Lancashire

The Mukherjees were happy with their Redrow home in Chorley so when they wanted somewhere bigger, where better than another Redrow home?
Moloya Mukherjee explained: “We bought our first Redrow home at Shaw Hill Park in Whittle-le-Woods as a new build in 1998 and after nearly 13 years decided we wanted a larger property with a study. Our previous house was from the original Heritage range and we wanted something similar because we were happy with the style and the layout.”
Moloya and husband Sarbajit were delighted to discover that Redrow were building executive family homes from the New Heritage Collection at the Sandy Lane phase of Buckshaw Village in Chorley.
“We liked the look of Sandy Lane straight away and were happy to wait for the five-bedroom ‘Blenheim’ to be released for sale. We chose the ‘Blenheim’ because it gives us the extra space we wanted with a combined kitchen, dining room and family area, plus a separate lounge and study,” Moloya commented.
“I would recommend Redrow to other house hunters because we have only had positive experiences with them.”
She added: “We took advantage of Redrow’s Mastermove service to help sell our old home, which meant we didn’t have to worry about finding a buyer.”
Under Mastermove Redrow enlists a local estate agent to market a customer’s property, monitoring their activities and progress and even paying their fees at the end of the day.
Now settled in their second Redrow home, Sarbajit, who is a surgeon, and Moloya, who works in a bank, are keen advocates of the advantages of buying a brand new property.
“When you buy an older property you have to accept the things that are already there, whereas with a new home you can personalise it to your taste choosing the fixtures and fittings from the kitchen units and bathroom tiles, even the light switches,” Moloya explained.
“You also get peace of mind that your new home is covered by a 10-year ‘Buildmark’ warranty and the integrated kitchen appliances come with a two-year manufacturers’ warranty. New build homes are also more energy efficient, than older properties. It means they are generally kinder to the environment and you should save money on your household bills.”
Current availability at Sandy Lane includes a selection of large and luxurious four and five-bedroom homes, with prices from £359,995.
Raised ceiling emphasise the light and airy nature of the designs; granite work surfaces are standard in the kitchens and most of the properties will feature American-style fridge freezers.
Buckshaw Village is now well established and, in addition to new homes, features the new Trinity Primary School, a community centre, outdoor sports facilities and a successful business park. A new railway station is scheduled to open in the autumn.
The beauty of the properties at Sandy Lane can be appreciated with a visit to the show homes, open Thursday to Monday from 10am to 5.30pm.
