Biosphere Expeditions – the award winning, non profit making conservation specialist – is giving people the opportunity to travel to the remote and high mountains of the Altai Republic in Central Asia to help protect one of the world’s most elusive and endangered species, the snow leopard.

You will be working as part of a small international team from a base camp at 2300 metres at the foot of a remote mountain range overlooking a vast area of open steppe and exploring both in Land Rovers and on foot. You will be looking for tracks, kills, scats and the animals themselves.

There is the opportunity to experience expedition style base camps, testing but satisfying mountain surveying, off road driving making this a challenging but very rewarding trip.

The expeditions run between 20 June – 2 July; 4-16 July and 18-30 July. The cost is £1690 per person excluding travel to and from the Altai.
