Expedia launches summer sale

Expedia.com today kicked off the unofficial start of summer by launching the largest and most perk-packed sale in the company's history.

Dubbed "My Summer is Better Than Your Summer," the 2011 Expedia Summer Sale offers up to 30% off hotel and package bookings to nearly 11,000 hotel properties worldwide, the largest number of properties ever featured in an Expedia summer sale. On top of these savings Expedia is delivering unprecedented perks and freebies, all designed to great summer experiences for Expedia's travelers. The sale begins immediately and runs through August.

In addition to deep discounts on hotel and package bookings at more than 11,000 properties, Expedia customers will find a host of freebies and extras including gift cards, food and beverage credits, and credits redeemable for local activities and experiences. Examples include:
