Leeds launches Age UK affinity savings account
Leeds Building Society has launched a new affinity savings partnership with Age UK Leeds. The account pays an excellent rate of 2.75% gross p.a./ AER, combined with penalty free access at any time of up to 25% of the initial amount invested. Customers will help Age UK Leeds, with 0.25% of the average closing balances being donated to the charity.
Kim Rebecchi, Leeds Building Society Sales and Marketing Director said, "This account has been specifically designed to offer customers an excellent return on their savings, whilst donating 0.25% of the closing balance to Age UK Leeds to support the charity. It doesn't cost the customer a thing and the more customers save, the more Age UK receives.
"This is a great deal for customers looking to secure a good return on their investment, whilst still having access to their funds. Unlike many other products in the market, this account allows penalty free access of up to 25% and a competitive interest rate of 2.75%. In addition, the minimum opening and operating balance is just £100."
Jo Shepheard, Age UK Leeds Fundraising, Marketing and PR Manager said, "In the 2001 census, 70,000 respondents identified themselves as carers in Leeds and 3 in 5 people will be carers at some point in their lives. The donations we receive from this new savings scheme with Leeds Building Society will support our carers work in Leeds today."
Kim Rebecchi added, "I would urge people to take advantage of this excellent savings scheme and, by doing so, help to raise funds for Age UK Leeds. This account can be opened at any of our 14 branches in the Leeds area, as well as by post and online."
