Enjoy your retirement with an easy to manage new home

A retired teacher has downsized to a more manageable home in St Neots leaving her with more free time to relax and spend with family and friends.
Judith Sampson, 59, is delighted with her brand new three-bedroom ‘Dunmore’ home at Redrow’s Loves Farm in the Cambridgeshire town.
“It’s so easy for us to manage”, says Judith, who is using her new found free time after retiring to entertain friends and family. “And I’m safe in the knowledge nothing will go wrong as everything is brand new.”
Judith has already seen a reduction in the household fuel bills of nearly 37% compared to the bills at her previous four-bedroom house in the village of Riseley, in North Bedfordshire.
She said: “Buying a more energy efficient house has made a huge difference to the monthly bills. It’s another reason I chose a new build as well as the fact it is very low maintenance.”
Judith says her new Redrow home fits her lifestyle needs perfectly. She added: “We’ve got three bedrooms so there’s plenty of space for friends and family to stay. I like to do a lot of entertaining so my open-plan kitchen and dining room is perfect. It means I’m not shut away in the kitchen while I’ve got guests round. The kitchen is well-planned with plenty of storage space and I’ve got a good-sized garden, which I’m using to grow my own vegetables.
“We’d looked around at a few different developments and it struck me that Redrow’s homes had more included as standard, such as a shower over the bath and heated towel rails. It was a combination of lots of different little touches that made Redrow stand out for me as well as the fantastic customer service they have offered.”
As well as couples and downsizers, the three-bedroom Dunmore home is an ideal family starter home. It is ready to move into straight away and has ample space.
Priced from £179,950, this light and airy home features a combined kitchen and dining area. There is also a large lounge to relax in, with French doors opening out on to the garden and a convenient downstairs cloakroom. The first floor is home to the master bedroom, with en suite bathroom and fitted wardrobes, two further double bedrooms and a family bathroom.
Loves Farm is one of two neighbouring Redrow developments in St Neots. The second, Priory Gardens, features more traditional looking Arts & Crafts influenced new homes from the developers’s New Heritage Collection, priced from £160,950.
Homes at both locations are built to the same high standards and all feature Redrow’s latest interior specification with its emphasis on convivial open plan living, plus contemporary new kitchen designs, including floor to ceiling units and top brand name appliances.
St Neots town centre offers many shops, restaurants and entertainment venues, as well as the main attractions of the Great River Ouse and Riverside Park.
The location is ideal for commuters as they’re close to the local train station with direct trains to London and good road links to the A1, M1 and M11, with Bedford and Cambridge only about 25 minutes’ drive away.
