Help for homebuyers in Chorley

First time buyers in Lancashire could save more than £25,000 off the initial price of a brand new home with HomeBuy Direct.

The Government backed scheme means they can put off paying almost a third of the price of selected Redrow apartments at Cedar Walk in Buckshaw Village, Chorley, until they’ve got more funds available.

So, a one-bedroom apartment could be purchased for an initial outlay of just £62,997 instead of the full market price of £89,995.

Lesley Myers, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), commented: “Research by the Halifax* and property portal Rightmove** indicates that the majority of non-homeowners want to buy but think they won’t be able to secure a mortgage without a large cash deposit. HomeBuy Direct reduces the amount of money buyers need to put down up front and could mean that they only need a deposit of around £3,000 plus a mortgage for 70% of the property’s value to secure an apartment at Cedar Walk.”

HomeBuy Direct provides a loan for the remaining 30%, which is interest free for five years and can be repaid when the client has more funds available or when they come to resell.

The incentive is available on selected new homes at Cedar Walk and is open to first time buyers and those starting over after a change of circumstances, such as divorce, provided their annual family income is less than £60,000.

“Those who are caught in the rental trap could find that homeownership is more affordable than they realised with HomeBuy Direct. They may even discover that their mortgage repayments are cheaper than the rent for a similar property would be,” Lesley added.

“And while buying a home can seem daunting, particularly if it’s your first, our friendly experienced sales team are here to help. They will guide customers through the home buying process, making it as simple and straight forward as possible. We take pride in delivering high levels of customer service so that our clients can enjoy their new home.”

To help explain how HomeBuy Direct works, Redrow has produced an easy to follow video guide to the scheme. It’s available to view online at: redrow.tv

The apartments at Cedar Walk boast convivial open plan layouts with combined kitchen, dining area and living room.

For those who want a larger home, there’s also a choice of two-bedroom apartments on the market from £114,995.

They all boast Redrow’s high quality specification, including well equipped kitchens featuring integrated top brand name appliances and lots of storage space thanks to floor to ceiling units and extra wide drawers; while bathrooms enjoy quality fixtures and fittings with and exclusive tile range.

An apartment is now open for viewing at Cedar Walk, enabling potential purchasers to appreciate the layout and quality finish of the designs.

The view apartment and sales office are open Thursday to Monday from 10am to 5.30pm.
