Linden Homes bucks housing market trend in Castor

If a housing marketing slow down or knock-on effect of the recession is still affecting the new homes industry – then Linden Homes is certainly bucking the trend.
The regional house builder launched its prestigious Drover’s Mead development in Castor near Peterborough early this year, which will comprise 24 luxury family homes off Clay Lane in the village.
However, despite planning to be on site until at least February 2012, huge demand in the development and its four and five bedroom homes means Linden Homes expects to bid a fond farewell to its residents as early as this September.
Sales at the development have been consistent since since prices were releases almost a year ago – with recent sales topping over £1.5 million in a single week.
Interest at Drover’s Mead hit an initial high in September 2010 – in an unprecedented move that saw potential customers queuing from 6am to ensure they reserved their preferred home.
Now the development has just four homes left to sell, starting in price from £520,000.
Linden Homes sales director Steve Garton said: “This is a remarkable achievement, particularly as people generally, and within the industry, are still talking about the effects of the recession.
“Drover’s Mead offers a fantastic location with a selection of specially-designed family homes that have captured buyers’ imagination and interest – many of whom are local and familiar with the area.
“The development is the first major housing project the village of Castor has seen for many years and we are thrilled with its success.”
