Persimmon's part exchange works wonders for families
When Tamsin and Paul Johnson were looking for a new family home they feared it would be a long wait to sell their own house to make their dream come true – until they heard about Persimmon’s Part Exchange deal.
They found an ideal new home for their family at Persimmon’s Heritage Place development in Heywood. And within four months, Tamsin and Paul, a project manager with local firm MWH, had agreed a price for their old house and moved into a brand new five bedroom detached property with their three-year-old boys Jake and Finn.
Tamsin, who jointly owns The Willows private day nursery in nearby Rochdale, says: “We had a three bedroom detached house and there were other houses on our estate which hadn’t sold, so we thought we’d have to wait a while before trying to move.
“Then we saw that Persimmon Homes was offering Part Exchange. It helped immensely and I don’t think we’d have been able to move without it.”
Their new home, a three storey Turnbury design, features a large lounge with patio doors leading onto the garden, a spacious kitchen / diner and utility room, and a downstairs toilet and cloakroom.
To the first floor is a master bedroom with en suite, a second bedroom also with en suite, and a single bedroom / study, while on the third floor there are two further double bedrooms and a family bathroom.
With plenty of room and great versatility for a growing family, the couple are looking forward to being happy at Heritage Place for many years to come.
Tamsin says: “We just really needed more room because we have twin boys, and I knew the schools around here were good because I used to work as a teacher.
“We love our new home. We’ve got lots of space over three floors and we’ve put the boys at the top of the house. When they get bigger it’ll be a great space for them. We’re really pleased with it all and hopefully we won’t have to move again. I would definitely recommend Part Exchange.”
Not being able to sell can be a major frustration for homeowners who want to move, and even those who have a buyer can find their chain breaks down. With part exchange, two local estate agents value your existing home and Persimmon then make an offer.
All the worry of a buyer pulling out is taken away, there are no costly estate agent’s fees, and customers can stay in their existing property while their new home is built.
The ease of the process and the resulting peace of mind are why so many house-hunters have taken advantage of the Persimmon Homes’ Part Exchange scheme at Heritage Place and have enjoyed a stress-free move.
Diane England, sales director for Persimmon Homes Lancashire, comments: “Part Exchange is a secure way of purchasing a property without having to market and sell your home through an agent. The scheme has accounted for around two thirds of sales at the development since January and has enabled many families to move into new homes who might not otherwise have been able to do so.”
