Homebuyers Nigel and Kathy Beaven just had to find out more about Taylor Wimpey’s Heathley Chase development of property for sale in Milton Keynes, after passing the new community on their narrow-boat.

When a new homes development enjoys a fantastic canalside location, there can’t be many better places from which to appreciate its position than the water itself – just ask boating enthusiasts Nigel and Kathy Beaven!

The couple were enjoying a short break on their narrowboat when they passed by Taylor Wimpey’s Heathley Chase development of houses for sale in Milton Keynes, nestling alongside a picturesque stretch of the Grand Union Canal, and they decided to take a look.

Just a few months later, they were settling into their brand new property in Milton Keynes at the development!

“We happened to pass by Heathley Chase while we were on our boat and we were very intrigued by what we saw. We have always liked that part of Milton Keynes and so we moored up and went to have a closer look,” says Nigel (63), a technical manager for a major truck manufacturer, reflecting on the couple’s first encounter with the development of houses to buy in Milton Keynes.

“We were greeted so warmly when we arrived and the sales staff were so keen to help us, and this immediately gave us a positive feeling about the place.

“We had previously seen quite a few new developments where the homes were quite small and cramped, but the properties in Milton Keynes at Heathley Chase were noticeably different, we were impressed by how spacious the properties were, and how spacious the area was.”

Nigel and Kathy (59) were looking to downsize from their previous four-bedroom property in Milton Keynes, and found that the space and style of the three-bedroom ‘Rosse’ semi-detached house at Heathley Chase was ideal for their needs.

Thanks to Taylor Wimpey’s easymover scheme, through which the leading housebuilder finds a buyer for a customer’s existing property in just a few weeks, the process of selling their old home turned out to be far more straightforward than they ever expected.

“I have never known a system that works so well – the whole process was an absolute doddle,” Nigel remembers.

“When we agreed to sign up for the easymover scheme, we thought it might be better to wait before they put our home on the market because we were about to go on holiday.

“But when we got back, there was a message on our answerphone saying that someone might be interested and a few days later we had accepted an offer! Taylor Wimpey and their appointed selling agents were absolutely fantastic and helped our move to go really smoothly – in fact it was almost like a dream!

“We’re so grateful to everyone at Taylor Wimpey, particularly the sales staff and building staff, who have been really helpful all the way through the purchasing process.”

Property-seekers looking for a spacious home in a stunning canalside location can take their pick from a fabulous selection of homes at Heathley Chase, including three-bedroom designs from as little as £215,000, four-bedroom houses from just £295,000 and five-bedroom properties from only £275,000.

Selected plots are available with the easymover scheme, letting buyers with a property of their own to sell enjoy a hassle-free move to their new home at the development, just like the Beavens.

The average selling time for easymover customers is five to six weeks, but many see their properties sold within a fortnight – and Taylor Wimpey can even pay for estate agents’ fees and provide a full removals service.

Heathley Chase comprises just 80 new homes on the northern edge of Milton Keynes, fringed by a new 140-acre country park encompassing a scenic stretch of the Grand Union Canal.

In time, the development will benefit from new shops, community and leisure facilities, plus play areas and open spaces for recreation. Families will find a good selection of local schools for children of all ages located within easy reach of home.

Bus routes, cycleways and footpaths link Heathley Chase to Milton Keynes’ business districts and to the shops, cafes and marketplace at The Centre MK.

A huge selection of leisure pursuits is also within a few minutes’ drive of the development, including the National Bowl, Milton Keynes Theatre District and the action-packed attractions of Xscape, including indoor skiing, skydiving and rock climbing, a multiplex cinema, bowling alleys and a health and fitness centre.

For commuters, the M1 north and south is a short drive from the Heathley Chase development, while both Wolverton and Milton Keynes Central railway stations run a direct service to London Euston, putting the capital just 45 minutes away by train. Those travelling further afield will appreciate that Luton Airport is just a 28-mile drive from the development.

The Heathley Chase Sales Centre is located at 124 Selkirk Drive, Oakridge Park, off Wolverton Road, Milton Keynes and open daily from 10am to 5pm, Tuesday to Sunday, and from 1pm to 5pm on Mondays.
