12th August 2011 Print

A new tour from Eastern Europe specialist, Regent Holidays, will introduce travellers to the delights of Moldovan wine, including visits to some of the country’s top wine cellars and a trip to the annual Wine Festival in Chisinau.

The 7 night Moldova Wine Tasting individual tour  departs on 7th October and will include four wine-tasting excursions to Cricova and Milesti Mici, both of which employ winemaking traditions that were established during the Soviet Times; and to newer wineries such as Purcari’s and Chateau Vartely, producers of premium wines that are now exported to countries including the USA, France and Germany. The Wine Festival in Chisinau takes place on 8th and 9th October.

Also included is a tour to Tiraspol, the capital of Trans-Dniestr, a self-proclaimed independent republic and to Orheiul Cechi, an historical monastery complex on the site of the old Moldovan medieval city of Orhei.

The price for this 7 night tour starts from £1,295 per person, based on two sharing and including flights from London Gatwick to Chisinau, accommodation on bed and breakfast basis in three star hotel, return private transfers and all tours outlined above.
