Snap up an affordable home in Chorley now

Cash strapped first time buyers can snap up a new home now in Chorley using a choice of incentives designed to help boost their buying power.
HomeBuy Direct is still available on selected plots at Redrow’s Sandhurst Gardens venture in Piling Lane, plus the Cedar Walk phase of Buckshaw Village. The valuable help allows them to take out an equity loan for up to 30% of the purchase price.
Lesley Myers, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), explained: “HomeBuy Direct is available now but would-be homeowners only have until December to take advantage, so should act quickly for the biggest possible saving at one of these two developments.”
With an equity loan for up to 30% of the purchase price, jointly funded by Redrow and the Homes & Communities Agency, eligible purchasers can initially save almost a third off the price of one of Redrow’s brand new homes.
The loan is interest-free for the first five years and can be repaid when the customer has more funds available or they come to resell.
With HomeBuy Direct a one-bedroom apartment at Cedar Walk, usually costing £89,995 can be snapped up for an initial outlay of £62,996 – that’s almost £27,000 below the asking price.
Over at Sandhurst Gardens a three-bedroom Kenilworth style home, available on the open market from £177,995 could be purchased for as little as £124,596 up front.
Also available on some of the properties at Buckshaw Village is the new Government-backed FirstBuy initiative, which works in a similar way.
It can now be applied to some of the houses currently available at the Village Green and provides an equity loan for 20% of the property price.
FirstBuy reduces the initial outlay required to buy a two-bedroom Evesham style home from £146,995 to just £117,596.
“Whichever scheme home buyers choose they’ll find owning a home of their own is much more affordable. With either of these incentives customers should only need a relatively small deposit but will still be able to access much improved mortgage interest rates, usually reserved for those with plenty of savings or equity in an existing property,” Lesley added.
“And while buying a home, particularly your first, may seem daunting, our friendly experienced sales team and the HomeBuy agent will guide customers through the application process and make everything as simple and straight-forward as possible.”
To take advantage of HomeBuy Direct or FirstBuy your annual household income must be less than £60,000.
