Help for first-time buyers of Peterborough property

Taylor Wimpey is offering first-time buyers new homes for sale in Peterborough for just 80% of their purchase price.
Fast-moving Peterborough property-seekers can find out how to secure a brand new Taylor Wimpey home for just 80% of its purchase price – by attending an exclusive first-time buyers’ event.
The leading housebuilder is holding its FirstBuy Saturday event at its sought-after Willowcroft development of houses and flats for sale in Peterborough at Eye Green on Saturday 12th November, when experts will be on hand to explain how the Government-backed FirstBuy scheme can help qualifying purchasers onto the property ladder.
Under FirstBuy, selected new Taylor Wimpey homes in Peterborough at Willowcroft can be accessed by eligible first-time buyers for 80% of the full price, including a 75% mortgage and a 5% deposit, subject to status.
The spacious Plot 46 two-bedroom ‘Cyan’ apartment, for example, can be accessed by qualifying purchasers for 80% of its £93,995 purchase price under the FirstBuy scheme – that’s just £75,196 – including a deposit of only £4,700.
Carolyne Watkinson, Regional Sales Manager for Taylor Wimpey, says: “FirstBuy offers first-time buyers a unique opportunity to leave renting behind and step on to the property ladder in style – and we’re giving home-hunters in Peterborough the chance to get the lowdown on how this incredible scheme could help them on to the property ladder.
“We have already experienced considerable interest in this fantastic initiative and availability is strictly limited, so I would stress to anyone interested in grabbing this great opportunity to visit Willowcroft during FirstBuy Saturday on 12th November to find out more.”
FirstBuy works through a joint loan of 20% from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) and Taylor Wimpey, which means that eligible purchasers only need put down a 5% deposit and obtain a 75% loan-to-value mortgage.
The loan is repayable at the end of the 25-year mortgage term or when the property is sold. To be eligible, purchasers must be first-time buyers and their total household earnings should be less than £60,000.
The village of Eye Green, and its sister village, Eye, offer everything to keep life local, including a primary school, a post office, pubs and places to eat, a small supermarket and petrol station, a library, a medical centre and a dental surgery, plus a selection of independent shops.
Closer still, the 25-acre Eye Green Nature Reserve – a picturesque lake surrounded by reed beds and woodland teeming with wildlife – is just a stroll from home.
For day-to-day life, Willowcroft is very well-placed for commuters. The A47 is just a couple of minutes’ drive away, providing excellent links into Peterborough and to the A1.
