A ten acre plot in Winchester has been purchased by Redrow Homes. The site, which comes with detailed planning permission, will consist of a low density development, new children’s play area and over five acres of open space and mature woodland.

The site situated just over a mile from Winchester train station makes it the ideal location for families and young professionals.

Redrow is planning to build 90 desirable new homes, a mix of private and affordable dwellings, with a wide selection of sizes from 1 bed to 5 bedrooms. The development will provide another example of quality and workmanship synonymous with Redrow.

Lee Hawker, land director for Redrow Homes (South West), said: “The opportunity to find a site for new family housing in Winchester is extremely rare and we are therefore delighted. This is a beautiful part of the country and our priority is to deliver a high quality development. We are therefore only developing half the land, leaving the rest as open space and mature woodland.”

Redrow is making significant investment to benefit the local community. An education contribution of £430,000, a future maintenance grant of £183,000, a sports contribution of £105,000, and £60,000 towards the future maintenance of the local area of equipped pay they will build on the site (LEAP).

The land is located on the North Eastern side of Winchester in the Abbots Barton area, ideally situated for local shops and schools.
