Cambridgeshire property seekers looking for a friendly place to call home can find what they are searching for at Taylor Wimpey’s Churchill Gardens development of houses for sale in Cambourne.

Home-buyers who move to Taylor Wimpey’s Churchill Gardens development of new homes for sale in Cambourne, Cambridgeshire, will find themselves in a well-mannered and courteous community – according to a new report.

Researchers for the Young Foundation found people living in Cambourne property to be among those who are upholding the British reputation for politeness and good manners after a study of the local population.

The findings were published in a report, Charm Offensive, in October, which was based on interviews and observations of residents and those working in the town, plus two other areas of England.

The report found Britons were generally more civil to each other than in most other western countries and asserted the perception that politeness was declining was generally untrue.

Cambourne – a new town, founded in 1999 – was singled out as a pleasant place to live, with the report adding: “The town prides itself on having a strong sense of community.

“Locals spoke of how starting a new community had instilled a pioneering spirit in residents, which made them make more of an effort to be cordial and neighbourly. Residents stress they share a ‘can do’ spirit.”

The town is identified as a popular place to bring up children in the report, which states: “Cambourne is primarily occupied by families, mainly those with toddlers and young children. The birth rate in 2009 was almost double the national average and 30% of residents are under 15.”

The fantastic community facilities in Cambourne were also praised in the report, which stated: “According to the parish clerk, the value of local community assets grew from a mere £800 a couple of years ago to over £2 million today. He has lost count of the number of festivals and groups that get together – everything from baby yoga and aerobics for the elderly to fireworks committees.”

Stacy Dornan, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “This report backs up everything we already knew about Cambourne.

“It has a strong community spirit, is a perfect place for growing families to put down roots and has a wealth of new facilities.
