Milton keynes youngsters helps design luxury showhome
When housebuilder Charles Church enlisted the help of Year 2 and children from Wood End First School to help design a bedroom in the new showhome at its Oakridge Park development in Milton Keynes, little did they know their creativity knew no bounds.
The pupils were asked to design their dream bedroom to feature inside the brand new showhome at Charles Church’s Oakridge Park development. Youngsters wowed Charles Church staff with their drawings of the room they were appointed to help style and had a tough time picking a winner however, after much deliberation, the judging panel decided two youngsters deserved joint first prize – seven year olds Keely McEvoy and Daisy Bail.
Claire Lambert, head of sales for Charles Church Midlands, the developer behind the Oakridge Park development off Selkirk Drive, said: “We chose Keely and Daisy’s Harry Potter designs as they were particularly striking – they were so bright and colourful and their attention to detail was first class.
“The plans for the room were so ambitious that we had a tough job taking the designs to the finished product however, we have done Keely and Daisy justice. The duo has designed a bedroom any youngster would be proud to have and they have done an amazing job, as I’m sure anyone who views the property will agree.”
Charles Church bosses recently invited Keely and Daisy to officially open the showhome at a ‘ribbon cutting’ ceremony and presented them with WH Smith vouchers as a thank you for taking part. The company also donated £50 to Wood End First School and £50 to Stanton Middle School, where the youngsters now attend.
Anyone who would like to view Keely and Daisy’s work in the four bedroom detached Stamford showhome or look at the other entries which are on permanent display can do so at Charles Church’s Oakridge Park development which is open daily from 11am until 5pm. With FirstBuy, homes on release at the development are currently priced from just £223,996.
