Do you know the UK’s sportiest tot?

The count down to the Olympics has begun (only 182 days to go!) but Team GB should look out as the search is on for the next generation of sporting talent! The Haven Fun & Fitness campaign is looking for the UK’s sportiest pre-schoolers deserving of the prestigious ‘Sports Tot of the Year’ award.
Organisers have been amazed by the sporting potential they have seen so far - from BMX riders to majorettes and there is still time to get involved if you know a talented tot with sporting skills.
Naomi Woodstock, Haven Fun & Fitness campaign manager explains; “we are dedicated to helping under-fives to be more active and the Sports Tot of the Year Award allows us to reward exceptional youngsters and provide them with the opportunity to develop their potential.”
The Sports Tot of the Year Award is looking for youngsters who will be an inspiration to other children, parents and early year’s practitioners. These children will demonstrate the benefits of getting involved in sports from a young age; the confidence it can bring; the co-ordination which develops as well as the enjoyment of being physically active.
In recognition of their sporting potential, the winners will receive a year’s professional coaching in the sport of their choice. And to help inspire other children to get active their pre-school will receive a big box of fun, age appropriate sports equipment for everyone to use!
The 2011 Sports Tot of the Year Billy Bright’s mum would recommend anyone who knows a sports mad kid to enter as she has seen the huge difference the prizes have made.
“We are so thrilled with the progress that Billy has made as a result of winning his Sports Tot Award and the fantastic lessons that he received. We can't thank the Haven Fun & Fitness campaign enough for such an amazing prize and his friends at school enjoy using the extra huge sports kit as well!" Ellie Bright enthuses.
Parents, relatives and early years practitioners can nominate any child (with parental consent) under the age of five who would benefit from additional coaching or lessons to help develop their sporting talents. Whether you bend it like Beckham or swim like Rebecca Adlington the winner can be involved in any physical activity; they just need to show exceptional sporting talents!
Registration is easy, just log on to havenfunfitness.com, click on the Sports Tot Award link and fill in the entry form. Last date for entries is 27th April. The 2012 UK Sports Tots of the Year, (one girl, one boy) will be announced in May.
