A special event taking place at Taylor Wimpey’s Lion Mills development of new homes for sale in Soham will let Cambridgeshire property-seekers discover how easy it can be to purchase a first home.

First-time buyers who believe the property ladder is out of their reach will think again if they attend Taylor Wimpey’s Mortgage Myths Forum at the leading housebuilder’s Lion Mills development of property for sale in Soham, Cambridgeshire.

New research suggests that many would-be buyers are deterred from searching for property for sale in Cambridgeshire because they assume they won’t qualify for a mortgage – but this special event on Thursday 9th February will see Taylor Wimpey set the record straight.

Two forums will take place, one starting at 6pm and a later one at 8pm, at the Lion Mills development of apartments and houses for sale in Soham. During the events, Taylor Wimpey Soham’s experts will dispel popular misconceptions about mortgage lending and explain to potential first-time buyers in search of new homes for sale in Cambridgeshire how it could be much easier than they think to afford their very own home.

Stacy Dornan, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey East Anglia, says: “Latest research shows that 92% of people think it is hard for first-time buyers to secure a mortgage, and that two out of three prospective property purchasers are completely put off from applying because they fear they will be turned down.

“By attending our Mortgage Myths Forum at Lion Mills, would-be buyers will not only find a new property could be comfortably within their reach, but they’ll be pleasantly surprised at how straightforward and stress-free the whole process can be when purchasing a Taylor Wimpey home – and they may only need a 5% deposit.”

The Mortgage Myths Forum will include an informative presentation from Taylor Wimpey’s experienced sales team and an independent financial advisor to demystify the mortgage application process.

The advisor will also be able to assess individual circumstances on the spot, and offer advice on how it is possible to secure a brand new Taylor Wimpey home at Lion Mills.

First-time buyers can also find out about the range of money-saving incentives offered by Taylor Wimpey, which means they could potentially purchase their new property with only a 5% deposit.

The Government-backed FirstBuy scheme is one of the initiatives available for first-time buyers at Lion Mills and means selected new homes can be accessed by eligible purchasers for 80% of the full price, including a 75% mortgage and a 5% deposit, subject to status.

Full details of this fantastic incentive, and other schemes for first-time buyers, will be available at the Mortgage Myths Forum.

A stunning selection of two-bedroom apartments is available with FirstBuy at Lion Mills, priced from £91,995 under the scheme. Alternatively, two-bedroom starter homes are priced from only £157,995, while three-bedroom houses are on sale from just £189,995.

Nestled in landscaped grounds dotted with mature trees and green open spaces and next to the picturesque Soham Lode, the new homes at Lion Mills offer the advantages of laidback village living as well as convenient access to transport links.

The development benefits from a wide range of amenities on the doorstep, including high street shops, a choice of supermarkets, pubs, restaurants and take-aways, while Cambridge, Newmarket and Ely are all within easy reach by road.

For commuters, the A412 offers quick links to the A14 east and west, while Ely railway station provides a direct service to London Kings Cross.

Mortgage Myths Forums are taking place at 6pm and 8pm on Thursday 9th February at the Lion Mills Sales Information Centre, located off Clay Street, Soham.
