The first phase of Crest Nicholson’s £400 million regeneration of a derelict stretch of land close to Bath’s city centre has attracted a surge of interest since the beginning of the year, with a number of sales secured on the soon-to-be-completed townhouses.

Crest, which was granted permission to build the first 299 homes on the site in late 2010, has now sold three of its 4-bedroom townhouses and there are a number of prospective buyers demonstrating high levels of interest in the 3-bedroom townhouses, which will be ready for occupation from March.

The next homes ready for occupation will be located within Liberty Gardens and of these seven apartments and penthouses have already been sold off-plan, which is encouraging given that these properties have not yet been actively marketed.

Susan Young, Sales and Marketing Director for Crest Nicholson Regeneration said: “As we have been able to finalise construction around the townhouses, and establish the streetscape along Stothert Avenue, buyers are beginning to truly see the potential of Bath Riverside’s location as a home which is reflected in both the design and the finishing of the properties. We are delighted by the fact there have been a number of sales within a matter of weeks and that interest in the development continues to rise.

“With the apartments progressing at such a solid rate and the fact that we have already sold 10 properties, we are quietly confident that 2012 will be a very good year for Bath Riverside,” she added.

The 11 Stothert Avenue townhouses, a mixture of 3 and 4 storey properties, are located on what will be one of the main tree-lined boulevards. These homes are being marketed from £550,000 (3-bedroom) and viewings of the showhome can be arranged by appointment and a 360° virtual tour can be found at bathriverside.co.uk.

“People have been very receptive to the range of different properties at Bath Riverside and the enquiries we are receiving are from all over the country, as well as some international enquiries. The location is one of the development’s main assets as it is a short, level walk into the city centre and this is something that all of our purchasers, even those who already live in Bath, have been impressed with,” she added.

Ms Young also confirmed Crest Nicholson will be opening a full marketing suite, which will showcase a number of the apartment types available, once primary external construction has been completed on the building closest to Victoria Bridge, expected to be in early Spring.

Crest Nicholson Regeneration has established a solid reputation for delivering state of the art homes, winning awards for its innovative designs, commitment to high build quality and ethical sourcing as well as sustainability. The developer’s commitment to integrating itself within the community is also noteworthy and Crest Nicholson has already established good working relationships with local organisations, residents and councillors.

Debbie Aplin, Crest Nicholson Regeneration’s Managing Director said: “We have worked very hard to ensure that the plans for Bath Riverside create both a vibrant new quarter as well as an area that integrates itself seamlessly into the wider needs of Bath. We have spoken with and listened to many people over the past seven and a half years and believe that all this has contributed greatly in creating a development where people of all walks of life want to live and visit.

“Crest Nicholson will continue to meet with members of the public, Bath & North East Somerset Council and local organisations to discuss future plans for Bath Riverside to ensure we continue to deliver the best possible scheme.

“We are building history in Bath and it is a responsibility we take very, very seriously.”
