Monte da Quinta leads golf bag charges fightback

10th February 2012 Print

Monte da Quinta is offering golfers the chance to earn money back on their holidays when they stay at the Portuguese resort at any time this year.

The luxurious venue, situated in the heart of the prestigious Quinta do Lago estate in the Algarve, has guaranteed to refund €40 per person on the cost of golf bag carriage on production of a valid airline transportation receipt.

Monte da Quinta’s decision to help ease the burden on travelling golfers will come as a welcome relief, with prices charged by airlines for transporting golf clubs having risen dramatically over the last few years and some companies now quoting £50 per flight from the UK.

The discount is available on any golf packages booked at the four-star resort throughout 2012 and will give golfers extra incentive to travel to one of Portugal’s most sought-after destinations.

Monte da Quinta has a wide selection of attractive offers to suit every golfer’s needs when staying and playing the three courses on the adjacent Quinta do Lago estate including their new Long and Short Drive packages.

From just €389 per person until the end of March, golfers can enjoy three nights’ accommodation in one of Monte da Quinta’s impressive suites, a round of golf on Quinta do Lago’s North and Laranjal courses, one evening meal with a complimentary bottle of wine and a free back and shoulder massage in the resort’s Magnolia Spa.

In addition, the offer also includes unlimited house wine and beers in Monte da Quinta’s bar during Happy Hour each day, one personal trainer session per person and free use of the gym, indoor pool, sauna, Jacuzzi and Turkish bath.

Prices are based on two people sharing a one-bedroom suite with a ten per cent early booking discount available until February 29.

For those people looking to stay longer, a seven-night break including two rounds of golf with buggy on the North Course and one each on the South and Laranjal – with all the same privileges of the Short Drive package –  can be booked from only €99 per person per night until March 31 and €113 per person per night for April, May and September.

Quinta do Lago’s golf courses enjoy a rich history, with the South Course having had the privilege of hosting the Portuguese Open eight times while Laranjal was voted the Best Golf Course in Portugal at the 2011 Portugal Travel Awards.

Monte da Quinta is an ideal base for anyone visiting the Algarve, located close to the famous golden beaches and surrounded by leisure options including championship golf, tennis and water sports. On-site there are a number of dining options, an extensive Kids’ Club and the Magnolia Spa.

The resort boasts a collection of 132 self-catering suites and a range of two and three-bedroom townhouses and spacious villas, while all townhouses and villas come with private pools.
