Expect a warm welcome from Zahira at Maison Africa

Specialist Morocco has launched its second new property in the heart of Marrakech, Maison Africa. The four-bedroomed, 18th century property is available exclusively for private rental by a family or a group of friends seeking privacy and tranquillity in the heart of the bustling city’s old town (Medina).

Maison Africa is perfect for one, two or three couples, and large family groups or as a luxurious honeymoon retreat, sleeping 6-12 guests in four, spacious en-suite bedrooms – one of which is an Arabian Nights-style caidal tent located on the roof terrace.

The property has been painstakingly restored, resulting in a luxurious and highly sought-after Marrakech home which retains many of its original features; it is tastefully furnished in a traditional Moroccan fashion with rich local fabrics, rugs, pots, metalwork and hand-made furniture.

The house is built around a central courtyard – accessed by an arabesque-style bab ed dar door – with a plunge pool – ideal for a quick cooling dip after a hard day’s haggling in the souks, or sightseeing, and there are open fires to warm chilly winter nights.

The large salon/living room can comfortably seat a large group and the huge heavy dining table is perfect for enjoying Moroccan feasts which can be prepared to order by the riad’s highly skilled cook/housekeeper, Zahira.

There is satellite TV in both the living room and bedrooms and free Wi-Fi connection for those who need to keep in touch with home or the office.

There is also a roof terrace, decorated with dozens of potted plants, and sunbeds for soaking up the North African sunshine or enjoying a drink at sunset whilst gazing out towards the snow-capped peaks of the Atlas Mountains in the distance.

The price of renting the entire riad is from £200 per night for groups of 1-6 people or £250 per night for 7-12 people. Rental includes mint tea and Moroccan pastries on arrival, daily Moroccan breakfast, mineral water in rooms, Wi-Fi connection and loan of local mobile phone.
