It’s true, women are becoming more adventurous, the fairer sex outnumbering the men on Acacia Africa’s overland expeditions by two to one. According to the tour operator, girl only tours are also on the up, trekkers, adrenaline addicts and wildlife enthusiasts choosing to ditch their partners and enjoy a “female friendly” safari in Africa.

Leanne Haigh, Project and Development Manager at Acacia Africa, comments “Whether it’s a girl fuelled get away, a group reunion or a more adventurous hen holiday, women of a feather are deciding to flock together, and they’re opting for Africa – recent online searches placing the continent above Asia and North America.”

Good news for girls, the adventure specialist is about to launch its Private Premium Overlanding collection, the new portfolio covering Namibia, Botswana, South Africa and Zambia.

The 8-day Desert, Delta & Victoria Falls itinerary costs from only £695pp – key highlights including 24/7 wildlife viewing at Etosha National Park, bush camping in the Okavango Delta, a river cruise on the Chobe River and a whole host of action and adventure at the Victoria Falls.

The trips, which range from eight to 19-days, also have sure-fire kick back appeal when compared to traditional overlanding tours.

Leanne Haigh, comments “Girl groups booking our Premium Overlanding expeditions won’t even need to break a nail, as the Acacia Africa team will be pitching tents and cooking up native African delicacies throughout the tour! You can even upgrade to local guest house accommodation – a huge plus for women who want to enjoy a few more simple luxuries, and the perfect surprise for a celebrant, whether it’s their 21st birthday or a hen holiday.”
