At the Nuerburgring's legendary Nordschleife circuit, the GranSport Trofeo fielded by the Maserati R&D Factory Team crossed the line in 5th position in their category and 35th overall. Ex-Formula 1 driver Jacques Laffite, Gianni Giudici, Patrick Hong and Richard Meaden took it in turn behind the wheel of the Maserati. The result was proof of the vehicle's reliability.
