Godolphin trainer wins Dick Hern Award
The Rolls-Royce Dick Hern Award has been presented to Saeed bin Suroor of the Godolphin stables, who trained seven winners at Goodwood in 2006. This annual award was introduced in 2002 and given to the racehorse trainer with the most Goodwood winners in the previous season.
Charlie Dimmock goes wild at Rolls-Royce
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars welcomed TV gardening expert Charlie Dimmock to the company’s manufacturing plant and head office at Goodwood, near Chichester earlier this week. She joined the children from Fishbourne CE Primary School to help create the wildlife garden, which won the ‘Go Wild at Rolls-Royce’ competition.

Rolls-Royce hosts launch of BikeSafe Sussex 2007
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars hosted the launch of BikeSafe Sussex 2007 at the company’s Goodwood manufacturing plant yesterday. Thirty employee motorcyclists were assessed by specially trained Sussex Police riders and advised on how to make their riding safer and more enjoyable.
Rolls-Royce commissions interactive artwork
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has announced details of the winning design for a permanent large-scale artwork to be situated at the Bishop Otter campus, Chichester University. Winning artist Walter van Rijn’s design for a Sound Unit in the shape of an ellipse was the unanimous choice by the panel of judges. The competition for the commission was open to artists worldwide, in partnership with Chichester District Council and the University of Chichester.

Winning school to go wild at Rolls-Royce
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has announced the winner of ‘Go Wild at Rolls-Royce’ – the competition which invited children from primary schools in West Sussex to design a wildlife garden. The winning design will be created this spring by children from Fishbourne CE Primary School – together with Rolls-Royce employees – within the 42 acre grounds of the manufacturing plant and head office at Goodwood.
Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupé auctioned for $2 million
The first Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupé destined for the USA has been bought at a charity auction held during the annual Naples Winter Wine festival in Florida for $2million. More than $1.6 million will go to the Naples Children and Education Foundation, which supports charitable and educational programmes to improve the physical, emotional and educational lives of underprivileged or at-risk children.
New apprentices join the Rolls-Royce success story
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has today announced the start of recruitment for the company’s second intake of apprentices. The successful applicants will join the apprenticeship programme in August 2007 working alongside skilled craftspeople in the paint, wood, leather, assembly or maintenance areas. The first 12 apprentices joined the company in September 2006.
Rolls-Royce celebrates third record year
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is celebrating its third successive annual sales increase since 2003, confirming the Phantom as the world’s leading super luxury car. Last year the company retailed 805 cars, a 16-year high for the marque.

The Peninsula Hong Kong has unveiled a fleet of 14 new Rolls-Royce Phantoms – the largest single order ever for this car. Each of the special Extended Wheelbase models has a host of bespoke features and is finished in a unique colour named Peninsula Green.
A Rolls-Royce welcome for Goodwood Barn Owls
A custom-made owl box was unveiled today in the 42 acre grounds of the Rolls-Royce plant at Goodwood. It has been installed as part of the company’s commitment to encourage biodiversity within its grounds. The box, designed and crafted by staff at West Dean College, Chichester features an owl mascot.
