Tentacles of downturn reach all prime property markets
Prime regional and country house values have fallen sharply (-9.6%) in the past six months, having previously responded more slowly to the downturn than prime London.
UK house prices fall in September

House prices fall 1.7% in September

Housing less affordable in rural areas
The average house price across rural Great Britain is 15% more expensive than the average house price in urban areas, according to the latest annual Halifax Rural Housing Review. House prices in rural areas currently average £235,324, £31,034 higher than the average urban house price of £204,290.
European Capital of Culture status boost Liverpool house prices
House prices in Liverpool have risen by an average of 76% from £79,886 to £140,842 since June 2003 when the city was designated as European Capital of Culture for 2008, according to research by Halifax Estate Agents.
