British Airways has created a new British Airways Holidays website to provide customers advice on where to shop, where to eat, where to stay, what to see, ticket booking, as well as top tips for visitors to popular cities around the world such as New York.

British Airways is urging the Civil Aviation Authority to stop BAA delaying the introduction of improved customer service quality targets at Heathrow by up to two years. The airline is providing evidence to the CAA at oral hearings on the current BAA airport charges review that start on Monday January 28, 2008.

Expert recovery team begin to move flight BA038

The British Airways aircraft recovery team started to move yesterday (Sunday January 20) the remains of the Boeing 777 aircraft which operated the BA038 service from Beijing to Heathrow.

OpenSkies takes off

British Airways is planning to launch its new US-EU subsidiary airline "OpenSkies" with daily flights from New York to Brussels and Paris. The airline will launch in June 2008 with one Boeing 757 aircraft that will operate from New York to either Brussels or Paris Charles de Gaulle airports.

New longhaul route to Hyderabad

British Airways is to start flights from Heathrow to the Indian city of Hyderabad from October 27, 2008. Hyderabad becomes the airline's sixth Indian destination joining Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai on its route network. There will be five flights each week on a Boeing 777 aircraft.

BA lifts hand baggage limit at Heathrow

British Airways customers flying through and out of Heathrow will be able to take two pieces of free hand baggage on board from January 7, 2008 following the government's decision to lift the restrictions, but the one bag limit is still in place at Gatwick.

BA announces new shorthaul routes for summer
