Air Southwest has underlined its commitment to the South West of England's air links with the early launch of its summer 2009 flight schedules on the airline's website airsouthwest.com.

Ryanair to rescue pop charts?

Ryanair has launched a joint assault on the pop charts with Mr. Superfly. Passengers who have travelled with Ryanair since 1st April will be familiar with the Ryanair “Trolley Song”; the perky tune that alerts travelers to the arrival of the trolleys during flights. This song itself has already become quite a talking point with passengers who instantly recognised its appeal.

Ryanair increases frequency from Madrid

Ryanair has announced that from November it will base two new aircraft (value $140 million) in Madrid, open four new routes (Alicante, Palma, Santiago and Valencia) and double the frequencies on three existing routes (Dublin, Milan and Santander) as it adds 75 new weekly rotations at its Madrid base. Ryanair will now offer six domestic and 17 international routes from Madrid on six based aircraft.

St Maarten-based airline Winair has resumed flights between Antigua and Montserrat, effective 1st October 2008. Carib Aviation, which previously operated the Antigua-Montserrat route, recently announced the suspension of all its flight services after 30th September 2008.

Pegasus Airlines launches fifth weekly flight

Pegasus Airlines has announced the launch of a fifth-weekly flight (Friday) on its London (Stansted) – Istanbul (Sabiha Gökçen) / North Cyprus (Ercan) route, effective 1 October 2008. This follows from the addition of a fourth flight in September. Friday flights will depart London Stansted daily at 13.15, arriving in Istanbul at 18.50. The return leg departs Istanbul 10.40, arriving at London Stansted at 12.25 (local times apply).

airBaltic to four new destinations this winter

The Latvian airline airBaltic will launch its winter timetable on October 26, 2008, offering four new destinations and increased numbers of flights along nine routes. The timetable will remain in effect until March 28, 2009. During the course of the winter, airBaltic will offer 49 routes from Riga and 14 from Vilnius.
