BA announces new shorthaul routes for summer

British Airways is launching new shorthaul routes from Heathrow, Gatwick and London City airports from March 30, 2008. The airline will start flights from Heathrow to Malaga and from Gatwick to Alicante, Faro, Gibraltar, Ibiza, Malaga, Palma and Tunis.

Flybe announces new summer routes to Jersey

Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, has today announced the early release of two brand new routes for Jersey as part of its Summer 2008 timetable. KLM continues fleet renewal program

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines continues to pursue its policy of ongoing fleet renewal. Forming part of the current fleet renewal program two Boeing 777-300ERs, two Airbus A330-200s, and three Boeing 737-700s have been ordered for introduction in 2010 and 2011.

Lufthansa launches Miles & More credit card

Lufthansa is offering an enhanced mode of transacting cashless purchases to holders of a German Lufthansa Miles & More credit card. In cooperation with the BayernLB bank and its wholly-owned Deutsche Kreditbank AG subsidiary, Miles & More and MasterCard are issuing a new generation Lufthansa Miles & More Credit Card to all existing German card holders from January 2008.

Spanair launches its renewed Punctuality Guarantee

Since November 5th Spanair is introducing considerable improvements to its Punctuality Guarantee in order to offer a better service and the highest quality standards to its customers. The company has extended its commitment until June 30th, 2008.

Scandinavian Airlines increases flights to Beijing

SAS Scandinavian Airlines is increasing its service between Scandinavia and Beijing due to high demand. A daily service between Copenhagen and Beijing was introduced last month and early next year, SAS will also further increase frequency on its Stockholm-Beijing route to six weekly.

SWISS’s first flight to Delhi en route

The first flight on SWISS’s new Delhi route took off from Zurich last week with 211 passengers on board. The flight – numbered LX 146 and operated by Airbus A330-200 “HB-IQK” – marks the first time the young company has added a further long-haul destination to its route network.

Three Addax fly by TAP to Johannesburg

Three female Addax – a mammal of the Bovidae family – on loan from the Lisbon Zoological Garden to Pretoria Zoo in South Africa, arrived on November 15 on flight TP283, destination Johannesburg. The Addax is a species threatened with extinction as its natural habitat has practically wiped out.
