Pianist, Singer, Composer, Television Presenter and King of Boogie Woogie Jools Holland OBE is guaranteed to set the Main Stage alight on Friday night at GuilFest 2012, with his full Rhythm and Blues Orchestra, special guest Roland Gift - former frontman from British rock/soul outfit, Fine Young Cannibals; as well as former Squeeze bandmate Gilson Lavis and guest vocalists Ruby Turner & Louise Marshall.

With a career spanning nearly 4 decades, Jools Holland is a household name synonymous with quality music. As well as being a founding member of the incredibly successful Squeeze, famous for hit songs “Cool for Cats” and “Up The Junction”, Jools has an extensive history as a solo artist with over 27 releases including 6 UK top 40 albums since 1978. His work has involved him with some of the biggest artists on the planet, including Sting, Eric Clapton, George Harrison, David Gilmour, Bono and Tom Jones. On top of this he is also host of the long running and vastly popular live television show, “Later.... with Jools Holland” – probably the most highly regarded music show on TV, which features live performances from a mixture of established and new musical artists and is considered an institution, having notched up millions of fans all over the world.

The Jools and His Rhythm and Blues Orchestra live show has existed since 1987, (formerly known as The Jools Holland Big Band) gradually evolving into the current mind boggling 20 piece setup, consisting of pianist, organist, drummer, three female vocalists, guitar, bass guitar, two tenor saxophones, baritone saxophone, three trumpets and four trombones. As anyone who has caught this live performance will tell you, it really is an awesome experience to behold and hear – making the fact that they continue to dazzle audiences in excess of 200,000 every year quite unsurprising!

For this special performance at GuilFest’s 21st anniversary, Jools will be joined live on stage by Roland Gift of Fine Young Cannibals fame, a singer who has also had huge success with number 1 album “The Raw and The Cooked” and two number 1 hit singles, “She Drives Me Crazy” and “Good Thing” – The latter holding the honour of being the most successful record Jools has ever guested on, achieving the number 1 spot in 17 countries!

Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra join already announced superstars Olly Murs and Jimmy cliff, both appearing on the Main Stage on Saturday 14th July. Over the coming weeks, many more announcements will be made about who you can see on all the stages at GuilFest 2012, including the Rock Cave and Dance Tent, as well as the top performers you can see in the Comedy and Theatre Tents and everywhere else at the festival this year.

As regular GuilFest visitors will know, you can expect a massively eclectic variety of music and entertainment across the many different stages at the festival, as well as great facilities such as the Kidzone - easily one of the best festival children’s areas in the whole country!

Voted best family festival in the UK, GuilFest is an award winning, family-friendly festival with a wonderful atmosphere by which other festivals have come to be judged. 2012 will no doubt be the best year yet - don\'t miss out. Tickets are now on sale and are available on-line at guilfest.co.uk.
