Comedy and TV acts at The Granville @ Barford

Guests can enjoy another fantastic evening of hilarious comedy on Sunday 6 May at The Granville @ Barford – and no getting up for work the next day! Four top award-winning circuit acts, two of which have appeared on TV, including international headliner ‘Martin Beaumont’, will perform at the dining pub along with the legendary Ryan Gough as compere.
A familiar face on TV, Martin Beaumont has worked regularly with Chris Tarrant on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and appeared in three series of Sky TV’s football comedy Dream Team. A talented writer and director, Martin won the Time Out's Critics Choice for his show Sunspots and has also written 60 shows for popular children's production. Martin has also appeared as a presenter on Channel 4’s Collectors Lot, three runs of the BBC’s Comedy Nation and the LWT series Red Handed.
Now established as a solo performer, storming comedy clubs all over the UK, Dan Wright has presented the BBC Three show F*** Off I’m Ginger and raced into the finals of the prestigious Laughing Horse 'Act Of The Year' competition, as well as becoming a regular face on TV presenting many shows. Dan is probably best known as one-half of the double-act behind the hit CBBC show Big Cook, Little Cook.
Phil McCullough served his comedy apprenticeship by being 'forced by his agent' to compere a weekly comedy night in Birmingham, where the notoriously tough crowd would switch off in an instant if the acts were not to their liking. This ensured that Phil turned out new, topical material at a high rate, along with some random audience participation games! A 'Three-Time' comedy award winner, Phil is one of the nicest chaps on the circuit and audiences love him!
Not for the faint hearted, Jon Pearson often says what everyone is thinking. Jon's Nan has never seen him perform and probably never will, if she heard some of the things he said, he'd be written out of her will!
Ryan Gough performed his first gig in 2000 jumping up on a comedy club stage to deputise for his mate who 'bottled it'. Ryan now performs at every comedy club from Newcastle to Plymouth. Being 6 ft 5” and 19 stone with a shaved head, lazy eye and trademark black leather coat, Ryan can look scary and intimidating. However nothing can be further from the truth; Ryan's friendly banter with the audience makes him an ideal compere.
Val Kersey, Proprietor of The Granville @ Barford, stated “We’re delighted to welcome so many fantastic and gifted top circuit headliners to The Granville. All our comedy nights have been a complete sell out so I would urge people to book their tickets early!”
Tickets cost £10 each or £15 with supper. Supper will be available from 6pm - 8pm. Show starts 8pm. Visit the website at granvillebarford.co.uk for further information.
