New release of homes to satisfy demand in Maidstone

A new selection of two and three-bedroom homes have gone on sale in Maidstone in a bid to satisfy a strong demand for first time buyer homes.
In a town where the average house price is nine time the average salary, Redrow’s recent release of brand new, traditionally styled homes at The Grange is likely to be well received.
Mary Timlin, sales director for Redrow, said: “Our new selection of smaller homes is ideal for a range of purchasers, from growing families to young professionals and those opting to downsize. It’s a slightly different offering to the larger detached homes we’ve been selling at The Grange and it brings the price range within reach of first time buyers.
“And with purchasers able to secure a 95% mortgage on our homes, thanks to the Government’s NewBuy initiative, it’s now even easier to make a move to The Grange.”
Prices for a two bedroom ‘Evesham’ home start from £167,950; it features an open plan lounge and dining room, separate kitchen and a convenient downstairs cloakroom. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms, a family bathroom and plenty of storage space.
Part of the New Heritage Collection, it has been influenced by the traditional architecture of the Arts & Crafts era, while inside boasts a bright, modern interior with high quality fixtures and fittings.
Redrow is one of the first developers to offer the Government backed NewBuy initiative across its developments in England.
Designed to kick-start the housing market by underwriting mortgages up to 95% of the property’s value at competitive interest rates, NewBuy is available to customers spending up to £500,000 on a newly built home, whether they’re a first time buyer or already own a house.
Mary added: “NewBuy will help people who want to take their first step onto the property ladder as well as those who already own a home but are looking to ‘trade up’.”
Lenders participating in the scheme will provide a 90-95% mortgage for buyers who meet their qualifying criteria; the lenders will be protected by a mortgage indemnity guarantee (MIG) jointly funded by Redrow and the Government.
Built on the former site of Senacre College, The Grange is just a short walk from the picturesque Mote Park and conveniently close to Maidstone town centre.
As Kent’s county town, Maidstone has a wide variety of shopping and leisure facilities. A new high speed rail service from Maidstone West station takes just 47 minutes to reach London St Pancras, currently running during peak times on weekdays; while Maidstone East station offers journey times to London Victoria or Charing Cross of around an hour.
