International superstar Tom Jones and British pop sensation Jessie J have been announced as the latest additions to this year’s BBC Radio 2 2Day line-up.

The duo, who are currently starring in BBC One’s hit Saturday night TV show The Voice UK, will perform an exclusive live duet during Chris Evans’s 2Day hour, which will go be broadcast from 6pm to 7pm from The 100 Club in central London.

2DAY on Thursday, May 10 will see the departure of the usual Radio 2’s schedule for one day only, to allow the network to showcase the depth, breadth and variety of content that Radio 2 has to offer - from blues to pop, jazz to dance.

Radio 2’s award winning mix of presenters will present shows throughout the day, including Chris Evans, Sir Terry Wogan, Ken Bruce, Johnnie Walker, Bob Harris and Claudia Winkleman. They all work together to help make Radio 2 the UK’s most popular radio station, with a weekly audience of 14.23 million listeners.

Helen Thomas, 2DAY Executive Producer, says: “Tom Jones and Jessie J are a fantastic addition to 2DAY. We have some amazing live music and entertainment throughout the day and listeners are in for a real treat.”

Also added to the 2DAY line-up are performances by one of the most innovative musicians of the last two decades, Damon Albarn; 2011 Brit Awards nominee Paloma Faith; multi-platinum selling quartet Keane; 80s icon Nik Kershaw (who will perform his hit The Riddle) and T’Pau lead singer Carol Decker, who will perform their hit China In Your Hand.

Other musical highlights include Steve Wright chatting to soul legend Dionne Warwick from 11am - noon and Paul Gambaccini presenting a unique collaboration between the BBC Concert Orchestra and British soul singer Michael Kiwanuka at the Watford Coliseum, during Dermot O'Leary's hour from 3pm.

Other guests within Chris Evans’s final hour between 6-7pm include Jamie Cullum, Bellowhead, Chris Rea, Keane and the cast of the hit West End show Jersey Boys.

2Day will be live streamed all day at bbc.co.uk/radio2. Listeners will also be able to watch Chris Evans’s show live on the BBC TV Red Button from 6pm in the evening. Video highlights from the day will be available on the Radio 2 website.
