Il Convivio celebrates Chelsea Flower Show 22-26 May
Belgravia’s most renowned modern Italian restaurant, IL Convivio in Ebury Street, pays homage to nearby Chelsea Flower Show with a menu inspired by the array or herbs and flowers on show this year.
With a menu as inventive as refreshing as some of the new features at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show, Monday to Saturday IL Convivio will offer a set lunch at £17.50 for two course, £23.50 for three. Dinner will be offered at £23.50 for two courses and £29.50 for three. Taste Chilled courgette and borage soup with crème fraîche for a light, refreshing starter or try something a little more warming such as Pappardelle with a rabbit, black olive and pea shoot ragu. Intense in flavour is the Risotto with butternut squash, lemon and chervil, whilst the Roasted Halibut fillet with a watercress and nasturtium sauce tastes as delightful as it sounds, whilst the Guinea fowl supreme with lemon thyme and lavender is a dish not to be missed.
There’s also a delicious Elderflower crème brûlée for dessert, and a great choice of champagnes and wines to celebrate the yearly Chelsea Flower Show in style. What’s more, IL Convivio has a bijoux garden of its own, a secluded urban oasis for sipping an aperitif or an after dinner drink.
The name IL Convivio comes from the Italian poet Dante and literally translates as a ‘meeting over food and drink’, originally of the intellectual philosophers of his era. Bright and airy and set into a Georgian house, IL Convivio features deep red walls embossed with words taken from Dante’s poetry, lending an air of romanticism to this elegantly styled restaurant.
