The doors will open to a much anticipated new show apartment in Tonbridge over the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee weekend (June 2 / 3) and Redrow will be marking the occasion with a traditional British celebration.

Redrow Homes relaunched sales at its Cannons Wharf development, along the banks of the River Medway, earlier this year and the first of the new apartments will soon be ready to move into.

Stylishly decorated to suit young professionals or downsizers, the new show apartment is the first opportunity for potential purchasers to view a completed property in the latest phase.

Just a short walk from Tonbridge town centre, with all its shops, cafes and restaurants, Cannons Wharf is also close to Tonbridge train station, which has direct links to London Bridge station in around 35 minutes.

Mary Timlin, sales director for Redrow Homes (Eastern), said: “We’re welcoming home buyers over the weekend of June 2nd and 3rd to help us celebrate the launch of our chic show apartment. We’ll also be embracing the spirit of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee with themed decorations and traditional British sweets.”

With a colour scheme of soft cream with metallic accents and a classical style with some contemporary elements, the new show home will appeal to discerning purchasers with an eye for modern design. Opulent features such as the glass beaded geometric wallpaper in the lounge/dining area, luxurious curtain and sofa fabrics and bespoke artwork and ‘objets d’art’ create a lifestyle any purchaser would aspire to.

Cannons Wharf is an established development being built in a number of stages. A new sales office is open so potential purchasers can view the plans and layouts.

Designed for modern living, the apartments offer open-plan living areas and fabulous fitted kitchens with an array of appliances included, plus a clean and contemporary family bathroom with high quality fixtures and fittings. Many of the two bedroom designs have en-suite shower rooms to the master bedroom and most have French doors leading out onto balconies.

Prices on the range of one and two-bedroom apartments are from £145,000 to £225,000

Increasing the appeal for first time buyers, a number of apartments are available to purchase through the Government-backed FirstBuy scheme. It provides would-be home owners with an equity loan for up to 20% of the full price but buyers own their entire home from day one.

Mary added: “FirstBuy makes buying possible for many who thought they had been priced out of the market. The interest free loan is jointly funded by ourselves, as the developer, and the Government. It means you can experience the joy of owning 100% of your first home but pay a smaller deposit and have lower monthly mortgage repayments.”

With FirstBuy, a one-bedroom home priced at £145,000 can be purchased for an initial outlay of just £116,000. First time buyers or those wanting to return to home ownership can apply providing their household earnings are less that £60,000 a year.

A deposit of 5% of the property price could be all they’ll need and the loan can be paid back when they have more funds available or come to sell.
