Omega returns to Costa Navarino

12th July 2012 Print

'The Omega concept’, a unique and innovative culinary experience launched last year in Costa Navarino, is debuting again this summer, with the presence of acclaimed chefs that will create special menus based on the ‘Omega diet’. Omega is supported by Gaea, Aegean Airlines and Navarino Vineyards, and is powered by Gaggenau Neff.

This summer Costa Navarino, the prime destination in the Greek region of Messinia in southwest Peloponnese, is again welcoming the highly successful concept that proposes healthy eating combined with a creative culinary approach. Omega’s presence emphasises the importance given by the destination in promoting haute cuisine with Greece’s abundant natural and healthy ingredients at its core.

The varied menus created especially for Omega, include Costa Navarino’s own products from its herb and vegetable gardens, as well as locally sourced ingredients, which have always formed an essential part of the Greek diet. Ingredients such as fruits and nuts, extra virgin olive oil, fresh fish, seafood and many more, are rich in Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids, and proven to be essential in a healthy and balanced nutrition.

The highly acclaimed chefs visiting Omega, will demonstrate their culinary skills through specially created menus and will also give master classes, offering a wholesome experience for guests that want to learn or delve deeper into the Omega diet’s positive benefits and its macrobiotic effects. The dishes prepared will give a great example of how healthy eating can be combined with delicious flavours and innovative cooking.

Omega will be welcoming these highly acclaimed chefs from Greece and abroad, on the following dates:

Host Chef
Doxis Bekris – Executive Chef for Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Costa Navarino, together with Dr. Fedon Lindberg (4-12 July)

Guest Chefs
Konstantin Filippou (13-27 July)
Lefteris Lazarou – Varoulko, Athens (10-18 August)
Ronny Portoulidis – Duke and Can Punta, Palma de Mallorca (19-30 August)
Ettore Botrini – Etrusco, Corfu & Botrini’s, Athens (31 August – 9 September)

Omega also aims to be a source of inspiration and a positive example for local producers, by creating awareness of the local natural products and practices that have been essential to the Greek healthy diet for a very long time.

At Costa Navarino, guests can experience a wide variety of culinary offerings, ranging from local cuisine, to international and ethnic flavours. A visit to Omega’s restaurant and participation in the cooking classes can be combined with a stay at the two luxury hotels, The Romanos, a Luxury Collection Resort and The Westin Resort, Costa Navarino, where guests can also take in the numerous facilities, such as the destination’s Anazoe Spa, the two signature golf courses, numerous sports and leisure activities.
