Following an extremely successful first few months as part of the Harrods Food Halls, Mango Tree and Pan Chai are expanding to take over a food bar, in addition to the two restaurants already in operation.

The award-winning restaurants will now be able to offer their top quality pan-Asian cuisine to take away, allowing customers to easily eat on the go, or take their favourite dishes home. Guests can also cater for special events, with set lunches and dinners, and feed a whole group of guests with special dinner party packages available.

The new food bars will serve a selection of Asian inspired dishes, developed by executive chef Ian Pengelley. The menu will be made up of a selection of fresh Thai dishes from Mango Tree, such as Thai green curry and som tum salad, as well as exotic, colourful pan-Asian specialities from Pan Chai like Malaysian beef rending and Korean sun budu soup. Dim sum favourites will include the new baby spinach and seafood dumpling and luxurious foie gras and scallop dumpling. The best local ingredients are being sourced, which is evident in the quality of the food.

The special Ian Pengelley Selection will feature premium choices such as Chilean sea bass and duck and watermelon salad. Ian’s dishes are influenced by his love of Asian cuisine, which developed while living and working in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam. He is constantly on the lookout for new ideas and flavours and his carefully chosen items offer the best in pan-Asian cuisine.

The food bar will be in addition to Mango Tree and Pan Chai in Harrods and also Mango Tree Belgravia, which is still hugely successful after over 10 years.

Mango Tree and Pan Chai owner Eddie Lim says: ‘We are delighted to have been given this opportunity by Harrods, and are hugely excited about developing within the store. Asian cuisine is very exciting and highly varied, and with new dishes and the bar format we can really expand what we can offer our customers.’
