The Brompton Bar & Grill host Rose Veal-themed Grill Club
On 22nd April the award-winning Brompton Bar and Grill will team up with the acclaimed Heaves Farm Veal and Alternative Meats to host its latest installment of The Grill Club, this time with ethical British Rosé Veal as the theme. The evening will be a truly unforgettable gastronomic delight, involving preparation and cookery demonstrations, as well as a wine pairing.
Guests will enjoy a glass of champagne on arrival and Alternative Meats will open the evening with a demonstration of the different cuts of Rosé Veal, followed by an introduction and explanation about the Rosé Veal by Neil Mason, owner of Heaves Farm Veal which produces this prime meat from bull calves.
Family-run Heaves Farm is located in The Lake District and was named 'Best Managed Farm' in 2011 by Westmorland Agricultural Society. Veal has been surrounded in controversy due to the inhumane farming methods that were associated with the rearing of the calves, which eventually lead to the crating methods that were being employed on the continent being banned in Britain in 1990.
Heaves Farm Veal has been one of a few farms pioneering welfare-friendly British Rosé Veal. They give their calves lots of space, deep straw bedding, a varied diet and employ exceptionally high welfare standards, which combined with modern farming methods produces the best quality British Rosé Veal. They supply many of the leading restaurants, hotels and chefs across the UK. British Rosé Veal has a tender and delicate flavour and is very lean and low in fat. It is currently enjoying a huge rise in popularity and can be increasingly found in butcher's shops, supermarkets, farm shops and farmers markets.
Alternative Meats bring delicious, different & exciting meats to the plates of thousands. Founded by dynamic duo, Rachel & Jeanette, their experience was in the British Ostrich Industry and this interest in an unusual meat has now extended to their 'Deliciously Different British Range' which includes British Wild Game, British Rosé Veal, Welsh Wagyu Beef, Kid Goat, Wild Boar and Water Buffalo as well as their original exotic product range of Crocodile, Kangaroo, Kudu, Springbok, Blesbok, Zebra, Camel and Wildebeest.
Brompton Bar & Grill owner and chef Francois O'Neill will then do a cooking demonstration on how to prepare two of the Rosé Veal dishes currently available in the restaurant; Rustic Rosé Veal Meatballs and Saltimbocca with Parmesan and Sage.
This will then be followed by a brief talk and tasting by Rupert Bairamian of award winning wine dealers, Hallgarten Druitt, which will explore and demonstrate which wines are best paired with Rosé Veal. Hallgarten Druitt is one of the most respected and celebrated names in the wine trade with over 70 years of experience with a highly acclaimed list. Over the course of the evening, guests will enjoy a delicious three-course dinner of the dishes they have seen prepared.
Occurring regularly and exploring different themes at each session, The Grill Club will provide the perfect Monday evening activity for meat lovers in London. The Brompton Bar & Grill is Knightsbridge's stylish and local bistro offering superb seasonal cuisine, fine wines and delicious cocktails. Founded by Francois three years ago, it has gone from strength to strength and is the ideal place to eat, drink and enjoy regular live music.
