The Granville to host comedy night preview for Edinburgh Festival shows

Another hilarious evening of comedy will take place at The Granville @ Barford in Warwickshire on Sunday 30 June. Top acts Lucy Porter and Mick Ferry who have both performed on TV including Mock the Week, Have I got News For You and Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow, will be performing their Edinburgh Festival preview shows to audiences at The Granville. Compere, is the legendary Ryan Gough along with two short support acts.

Lucy Porter is a regular on TV and radio panel shows. Most recently she emerged victorious for the title of Celebrity Mastermind Champion in a special edition of the show for Children in Need. She has also appeared on 'Mock the Week', 'Argumental' for the Dave Channel, 'Have I got News for You', 'Clive Anderson's Chat Room', 'Never Mind the Buzzcocks' and 'What the Dickens?' She remains amongst the most sought-after comedy writers and was one of the lead writers on ITV1's prime-time satirical animation series 'Headcases'. She's been responsible for turning Dames Helen Mirren and Judi Dench into mouthy Croydon girls, Robert Mugabe into a West Country farmer and Angelina Jolie into an evil sweatshop gangmaster. Described by Time Out as “One of the most talented comics on the circuit…..brilliantly crafted jokes. This is get happy comedy at its very best”.

Mick Ferry has established himself as one of the most sought after comics on the British and International comedy circuit. Mick performs regularly at The Comedy Store in London and Manchester as well as headlining at comedy venues nationwide. Mick has recently starred in BBC 1`s Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow as well as Comedy Blue and The Comedy Store for Comedy Central. A prolific writer, Mick was a writer on John Bishop’s Britain for BBC 1 and has also previously written for BBC 3`s Smalltime. Described by the Big Issue “As good as it gets…..highly original and hilarious”.

Ryan Gough will once again return as the compere. Being 6 ft 5” and 19 stone with a shaved head, lazy eye and trademark black leather coat, Ryan can look scary and intimidating. However nothing can be further from the truth; Ryan's friendly banter with the audience makes him an ideal compere.

The shows that comedians perform for a month at The Edinburgh Festival each year need to be rehearsed and perfected which is why the top acts go out on the road to test out their entire shows on audiences.
