Demand for Neath homes exceeds all expectations

New homes in Neath are proving so popular that people are currently reserving homes that will not be ready until 2014.

David Wilson Homes sales director Richard Lawson said that demand for homes at Glas y Dorlan had exceeded all expectations and buyers are so keen to move into the new development they are reserving off-plan.

“We knew the development would prove popular but we just cannot build fast enough at the moment,’’ said Richard. “The fact that people are reserving their new home long before it is complete is a real tribute to the location and the quality of homes we are building.’’

He said the early reservations also reinforce the increased confidence in the property market in South Wales. “A combination of pent-up demand, the prospect of interest rates remaining low and a shortage of new family homes is evident in the success at Glas y Dorlan and a real boost for the region.’’

Current availability at the development includes four and five bedroom homes with families moving up the housing ladder often taking advantage of David Wilson Homes’ part exchange scheme.

“We know how frustrating it can be for buyers to discover the perfect new home – only for their dreams to be scuppered because of problems selling their existing property,” said Richard. “Our part exchange scheme removes all the uncertainty associated with a move.

“David Wilson Homes is a guaranteed cash buyer – so there is no chain, no last-minute price haggling and no hidden costs – and people can stay in their old property until their new home is ready.”

Buyers also benefit from the David Wilson Homes exclusive five year warranty on fixtures and fittings which is in addition to the standard 10 year NHBC warranty on the property.
