A new family holiday in Oman

The 9-day holiday – which is perfect for the winter months with Oman’s warm winter climate – is chauffeur-driven throughout and provides a wealth of experiences ranging from camping amongst the desert dunes, to swimming in cool river-fed canyons, driving off-road into the rugged mountains, picnics in the wilderness and cycling through an oasis.

There will also be a chance to shop for exotic frankincense in the souqs and to go dolphin-watching and witness turtles coming ashore to lay their eggs.

The itinerary commences with three nights in the capital, Muscat, with plenty of time to explore the city and including a private tour.

On day four, you will head out of town to visit Nizwa castle and souq, Jebel Shams and Oman’s ‘Grand Canyon’.

The adventure continues into the desert, with a cycle through Al Hamra oasis before driving to Wahiba Sands to spend the night at the ‘1000 Nights Camp’.

Next on the itinerary is a cultural encounter with a visit to a Bedouin Family before a chance to swim in Wadi Bani Khalid with turtle watching at Ras Al Jinz.

The adventure ends with a drive back to Muscat via Wadi Tiwi and ‘White Beach’, to spend two nights at the luxurious Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa and a chance to take a traditional Dhow or dolphin cruise.

The holiday can depart any day of the week and costs from £1410 pp (based on a family of four travelling and two rooms).
