Redrow development success signals Welsh property market rebound

A hugely successful launch weekend at a Redrow development in Flintshire points to a resurgent property market.

Situated in the sought-after village of Hawarden, Gladstone Leigh has now taken names against an impressive total of 10 new homes since last weekend’s opening.

The stunning development will eventually feature 44 new homes; a mixture of three and four-bedroom properties, priced between £284,995 and £334,995.

The news come amidst growing evidence that the housing market in Flintshire is gaining strength. Recently the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors published evidence which suggested that the nation’s house prices would continue to rise throughout 2013.

It’s also more good news for Wales’ biggest homebuilder, with Redrow enjoying similar success at its nearby developments in Penymynydd and Buckley.

Anita Williams, sales director for Redrow Homes (NW), said: “We’re obviously delighted that these beautiful homes have received such a high-degree of interest, though we cannot say we are surprised. I believe that the really smart investors will see that now really is the perfect time to buy, with the future looking bright for Flintshire’s housing market.

“Gladstone Leigh enjoys a prime location in the charming village of Hawarden, which is one of Flintshire’s property hot spots thanks to its quaint village centre, award-winning restaurants and pubs and close proximity to Chester.”

When complete, the development will feature beautifully crafted properties from Redrow’s Heritage Collection – a premium housing product with more than a hint of nostalgia in its exterior design, and yet boasting a high calibre interior specification to meet the needs of modern lifestyles.

There will also be a range of properties to suit everyone; from delightful two-bedroom homes, perfect for first time buyers or downsizers, to large four-bedroom detached family homes, all set amid attractive landscaping with areas of open space incorporated within the development.

A stylish show home is set to open in November to display the high specification interiors on offer. Until then homebuyers can visit Redrow’s other developments nearby to view a number of show home designs.

The Hawarden location of Gladstone Leigh is a major selling point. There is a small selection of local boutiques, convenience stores, lively pubs and fine restaurants in the village, as well as a Tesco superstore in nearby Broughton and Asda in Queensferry. Broughton Retail Park offers a fantastic selection of high street fashion and home furnishings stores.

At just seven miles away, Chester offers an exceptional shopping experience complemented by a unique range of independent shops and an unbeatable choice of cafes, bars and restaurants. The location is a commuters dream, with Wrexham just 12 miles away and Liverpool 18 miles away.
