Tommi’s Burger Joint hits the King’s Road

Tommi’s Burger Joint will be bringing its famed burgers to the slick streets of Chelsea, opening a second site on the King’s Road in early January. As ever, Tommi’s will be rustling up the best burgers in the business, with produce carefully sourced from their trusted British suppliers, with meat from HG Walter butchers in Barons Court, and bread from Millers Bakery. The burgers will be cooked on an American gas grill to enhance the charcoal flavour, and garnished in the classic diner style with iceberg lettuce, tomatoes and chopped onion, and not forgetting the all-important fries, homemade Béarnaise and cocktail sauces.
The new site will also continue to embrace Tommi’s Icelandic heritage by serving a special Icelandic beer, Viking, alongside a selection of wine and regular beers, and home-made milkshakes created with Icelandic ice-cream. The restaurant will stay true to its roots and keep an informal, vintage feel to the interiors, mirroring the decor of the original London site on Thayer Street.
Tommi’s began life in London as a pop-up in Marylebone in 2012, and such was its success, made the move to a permanent site on Thayer Street in Marylebone in August, delighting the many Tommi’s fans who have been queuing out the door ever since! The American-style diner is the creation of Icelandic entrepreneur Tomas Tómasson, who has launched six Tommi’s in his native Iceland and nearly 20 other restaurants and hotels, including the Hard Rock Cafe. The burger flipping on the King’s Road will be led by Tommi’s head chef Siggi Gunnlaugsson, who will divide his time between both sites.
