This February, vibrant neighbourhood fish brasserie, Kensington Place, will transform its private dining room into a pop-up diner: FISHBone.

A stone’s throw from Notting Hill station, FISHBone will be a unique fish and seafood spin on the ‘gourmet fast-food’ trend. Seating only 36 diners, the small and intimate space will boast a large communal wooden table running through the centre of the room and at-window bar-style seating allowing diners to sit back and people-watch the shoppers of Notting Hill and Kensington Church Street. Vintage signs and posters will adorn the white side walls, with seaside trinkets and old books tucked onto built-in, dimly-lit shelving.

Inspired by the restaurants hit summer menu, FISHBone will offer a range of ‘fast-fish’ dishes created by head chef Dan Loftin, including Salmon ‘doner with pitta, cucmber and yoghurt and Pulled skate with beurre noisette and capers alongside the menu’s classic serving of the Scallopdog with brown shrimp and cucumber vierge. Food will be served on trays in fast-food-inspired packaging, perfect for diners to share a selection of extras such as Prawnish pasties and Crab bhajis and unwind in the diner’s relaxed atmosphere.

A pared-back drinks list will offer a range of inventive hard drinks made with Sipsmith gin and vodka, such as Hook, Lime and Sinker, three shots of sharp, sour and sweet; and a savoury Filthy Dirty Anchovy Martini. Diners can also order white wine sangria by the jug – perfect for sharing just like the food; hot and cold Sake; British craft beer and a hand-picked selection of wine by the glass or bottle.

A unique new addition to the West London dining scene, FISHBone’s quirky junk-fish menu and informal, laid-back ambience will welcome friends, families and couples alike.
