Petrol heads and fans of Top Gear will be heading to the Caribbean next month to see the Top Gear Festival Barbados, the highlight of which will be the sight of Lewis Hamilton appearing on track behind the wheel of his Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One car, during an adrenaline-fuelled motoring weekend on 17 & 18 May.

Fans can expect to hear the (slightly quieter) roar of the F1 Mercedes-Benz Formula One engine as the car makes history with its Caribbean debut by appearing at the newly renovated Bushy Park Circuit.

The weekend will be jam packed with events as Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond take part in a non-stop schedule of motoring antics that will see the famous Stig and the Top Gear Live Stunt Driving Team take to the track in a series of thrilling stunts, races and challenges as well as legendary drivers from Global Rally Cross, compete in the first round of their 2014 season.

Tickets to the motoring weekend are limited but specialist tour operator Fleewinter is offering a special package to coincide with the event; seven nights for the price of six and including two free festival tickets (worth £22 each), plus return transfers from the accommodation.

There are numerous properties to choose from including three-bedroomed (plus three bathrooms) Dolphins, a smart apartment in the Schooner Bay complex.

The beachfront development consists of three blocks of apartments with a freeform swimming pool as the focal point and breath-taking views across the Caribbean Sea. A week’s stay in May costs from £3144 per week (or £524 pp when six share).

Alternatively, Emerald Beach (also sleeping six) is one of six luxury villas located in an acre of manicured gardens in Gibbs Bay.

Each villa has three generously large air-conditioned bedrooms, two on the upper level and one of the ground floor, all with private patios enjoying spectacular views of the Caribbean Sea. In addition to excellent beach and swimming facilities, there is a large freshwater pool for the exclusive use of residents. A week’s stay in late May now costs £2748 (£458 pp when six share).

Flights not included but bookable through Fleewinter on request.
