Attracting buyers from young families to downsizers, Redrow’s new Higham Chase venture in Dodworth has proved itself to be popular with all ages.

Homes have been selling fast since the venture opened in March, with some house styles already sold out but many are more available for purchasers to choose from.

Patsy Aicken, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire), said: “Feedback so far has been extremely positive; local people love the new homes that hail from our award-winning Heritage Collection. Dodworth has a strong community feel to it and these homes, with their traditional Arts & Crafts-inspired exteriors and contemporary interiors really complement the area.

“We’d urge would-be buyers to come and take a look at the homes at Higham Chase as soon as possible so they don’t miss out on the chance to buy a brand new home.”

Redrow’s Mastermove scheme has also been popular at the venture which allows homeowners to sell up and move on quickly, without fuss or expensive estate agent fees.

Customers who sign up for Mastermove will have their property valued and, once a selling price is agreed, Redrow instructs a local estate agent to market the property on their behalf. Crucially, the housebuilder keeps in regular contact with all parties to ensure the sales process runs quickly and smoothly and they will even pay the estate agent once the sale of the new Redrow home has completed. All it takes is a small deposit of £50, which will also be reimbursed upon completion.

Current availability at Higham Chase includes family homes such as the three-bedroom ‘Letchworth’ home, priced from £183,950, up to the four-bedroom ‘Stratford’ at £231, 950. The availability of Help to Buy makes these properties even more attractive.

Help to Buy is a government scheme that allows purchasers to take out a 20% equity loan that’s interest free for five years. This reduces the initial cost of the home they’re buying and means they only have to find a 5% deposit and 75% mortgage from a lender of choice.

For example, the initial cost of the Stratford can be reduced to £185,560 with just a £11,600 deposit required.

Situated on Higham Lane, in Barnsley, Higham Chase is close to the A628 which connects Dodworth with both Barnsley and Manchester. It’s also within a mile of junction 37 of the M1, providing great access to both the north and south of the country.
